Mercedes-Benz South Africa has officially introduced the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ Edition 1, a limited-edition plug-in hybrid performance sedan that blends cutting-edge technology with signature AMG styling.
And here’s the catch only 12 units will be available locally.
What Makes the E53 Edition 1 Special ?
This exclusive Edition 1 takes the already impressive Mercedes-AMG E 53 and cranks up the style, performance, and rarity.
From the outside, the Edition 1 makes a bold statement in MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey, paired with 21-inch AMG forged wheels, carbon fibre exterior detailing, and the AMG Night Package.
Interior Styling:
Inside, the limited edition E53, boasts a unique and stylish cabin featuring The sporty AMG steering wheel is dressed in Nappa leather, AMG Performance seat, with yellow contrast stitching and seat belts, latest MBUX Superscreen with passenger display, as well as AMG-specific displays and hybrid performance data, that provides real-time energy flow.
This model comes fully equipped with features like the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package, high-performance brakes, and even a darkened AMG grille.
Powertrain and Performance
At its core, the E 53 Edition 1 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six cylinder petrol engine paired with a 120 kW electric motor. Together, the combination produces a mighty 450 kW and 750 Nm of torque, with a 0–100 km/h sprint time of just 3.8 seconds with RACE START mode activated.
You also get pure electric driving for over 100 km, thanks to a 28.6 kWh battery (usable capacity: 21.22 kWh).
