What to expect?
During a launch event at The Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg, TMPV introduced four exciting models designed specifically for South African consumers: the Harrier, Curvv, Punch, and Tiago.
Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier is a stylish and spacious SUV built for families. Measuring 4605 mm in length, it goes up against rivals like the Haval H6, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota RAV4, and Mahindra XUV700.
Under the bonnet, the Harrier uses a 2.0-litre Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 125 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. You can choose between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also offers 445 litres of boot space that can be expanded to 815 litres when the rear seats are folded.
The interior is modern and feature-packed. Depending on the trim, you’ll get a 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a cooled armrest, and a gesture-controlled tailgate. Alexa Car2Home integration and Terrain Response modes add extra convenience and capability.
For safety, the Harrier is equipped with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, and Level 2 ADAS.

Tata Curvv
The Tata Curvv is a coupe-inspired SUV with sporty styling. Under the bonnet sits a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron turbocharged petrol engine producing 88 kW and 170 Nm of torque, available in both 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission options.
Inside, the Curvv takes a big step up in design and tech compared to the Tata Punch. Depending on the variant, Smart, Smart+, or Pure buyers will find a 7-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof.
On the safety side, the Curvv comes kitted with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control included as standard. And more advanced features, such as a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitor.

Tata Tiago
The Tiago is Tata’s entry-level model for the South African market and will be offered in four derivatives. Positioned as a compact hatchback rival to the Kia Picanto, Hyundai Grand i10, Renault Kwid, Suzuki Celerio, and Volkswagen Polo Vivo, it blends affordability with modern features.
Under the bonnet, it comes powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 63 kW and 113 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT transmission.
Inside, depending on the derivative, the Tiago comes with a 7.0-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectable wirelessly, as well as a digital instrument cluster.
Safety is also a strong point for the Tiago. Standard features include a reverse camera, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and dual airbags.

Tata Punch
The Punch will be available in five derivatives. Safety is standard across the range, with ABS and EBD, electronic stability control, and dual airbags. It uses the same powertrain as the Tiago but offers more practicality thanks to its SUV-like stance. It has a higher driving position, 187 mm of ground clearance, and a useful boot space rated at 366 litres.
The Punch’s interior comes well-equipped, boasting features such as a fully digital 7-inch infotainment screen or a larger floating 10.5-inch screen, both compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features cruise control, selectable drive modes, depending on the model.
The Punch will be available in five derivatives. Safety is standard across the range, with ABS and EBD, electronic stability control, and dual airbags included. Positioned as a compact SUV, it will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, Suzuki Fronx, and Toyota Starlet Cross.
Tata further notes that all four new models in its South African line-up, including the Tiago, have achieved 4- or 5-star safety ratings from Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP.
